Jazz dance originates from African dance and the fusion of European classic and American modern dances. Jazz showcases the originality of each dancer in both energy, creativity, and expansive motions while incorporating the grace and balance of ballet.
Jazz is a professional dance as well as a social dance and can be seen in moves of the Roaring 20’s,such as the Charleston, Peabody, and Turkey Trot. Jazz was incorporated into Broadway musicals such as Chicago and Cabaret gaining mainstream recognition for the energetic and creative dance style that can be seen in modern music videos.

Susie Karlik’s Dance Sensation has fostered the growth of jazz dancers for the past 25 years. Not only do our students place in competitions, but many go on to compete on college-level dance teams.
Our highly trained and passionate instructors teach a wide range of classes, from beginner-level to advanced technical skills. All ages and skill levels are welcome to join this exciting and challenging environment. Comfortable waiting rooms offer availability to support your child or teen learning jazz in our two large studio rooms with advanced sound systems.
